5/15/99 Some information on Lucinda Hill and her family are from Jeff Carr of TX, email: ffejlny@worldnet.att.net. His wife is a descendant through Solon Bolon Killian. He writes, "Samuel and Lucinda were supposed to have migrated to Texas. I have found no record of that, but in 1860 some of the children are in Navarro Co. with George Washington Hill (son of Henry J.A. Hill and Polly Johnson)." (This would have been the Killian children's Aunt and Uncle since their mother, Lucinda was a half-sister to Geo. W. Hill, same father, different mothers)

From descendant Sandra Barnes Shea, 8/15/99:

From a letter from T.J. Barnes to my grandfather Edwin Bruce Barnes
living in Austin, Texas on Oct. 1, 1947:

"...so far I have utterly failed in locating any of Lucinda Hill's
descendents. She married Samuel Killian and after his death, she, with
all her family went to Texas.."

From a letter from T.J. Barnes to Dr. Livingston Barnes in Hubbard,
      Texas on November 29, 1946:

"In your travels in Texas have you ever run across any Killians? You
know our great great grandfather had only one sister and her name was
Lucinda and she married Samuel Killian and Samuel got drunk and fell in
the mill race at Hill's Mill and drowned, after which his widow went to
Texas and I have never been able to contact any of their descendents."

May 5, 2002. From notes on Killion Gedcom file at https://www.my-ged.com/db/page/killion/3290 (& 3899)

"According to footnote #135 in J. Yates Killian's, "History of the Killian Family in North Carolina," as printed 29 April 1994, Samuel Jr. got intoxicated and fell in Hill's mill race and was drowned about 1845. After the 1850 census, Lucinda took the children to Texas. The footnote further states that several of the boys served in Texas Regiments during the Civil War.

...Some time after the 1850 census, Lucinda Hill and her children left Tennessee and settled in Madison County, Arkansas, near Huntsville. Later, they would move again, to the vicinity of Waco, in McClennan County, Texas."

"I thought I would touch base with you again and see how you are doing. I have a Lucinda Hill in my ancestors, she is the sister of George Washington Hill. Lucinda's son William Killian had a sister, Susannah Killian, that married a Wiley Bess. William grew up near "Wash" Hill's place near Spring Hill, TX.
