Ih-tedda, b. 1851, d. July 1950 or 1954 |
| Married |
Sep 1885 |
| Type: Apache wedding-Geronimo captured her in a raid. |
| Divorced |
When Geronimo went onto the reservation, the white people said he could only have one wife, so he divorced Ih-tedda. However, she continued to live in another room of the house he shared with Zi-yeh until she was granted permission to return to the Mescalero Reservation. |
| Notes |
- Ih-tedda was the 7th or 8th wife of Geronimo. Most sources say she was the 7th. He had met her on the San Carlos Reservation in 1877-78, but they did not have a relationship until he captured her in a raid.
- Geronimo was married to Zi-yeh and Ih-tedda at the same time, but later divorced Ih-tedda.
- Ih-tedda died in her nineties in Mescalero, New Mexico, and was the last of the Geronimo wives to die.
