    • Jane Rosetta was born in New York in 1836. She was the third fo three daughters. Her parents were converted to the Mormon church. Shortly after Jane's birth the family moved to Kirtland, Ohio, Jane was baptized in a branch of the Ohio River when about eight years of age. She remembered well the building of the Kirtland Temple and the trials of the Saints there.

They later moved to Nauvoo, Illinois. She knew the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum. They gave her a ride in their carriage when she was just a little barefoot girl on her way home from helping her father with the work on their share-cropping farm. When they reached her home, Joseph smith lifted her down from the carriage and said that all would be well with her. After that, she prayed many times that she could have a vision like the Prophet.

Jane left Nauvoo with her parents in the year of 1846 when the Saints were driven from their homes and spent the Winter at Council Bluffs, Iowa. In the Spring of 1848, they started on their journey to the Salt Lake Valley. Jane was just twelve years old but she drove two yoke of oxen across the Plains. The family arrived in Salt Lake in Wpt 1848 and Lived in Pioneer Square during the Winter of 1849-49. They passed throught all the hardships incident to early pioneer life in Utah. Jane and her father worked with the team and wagon on a far for a peck of bran and shorts a day. Some days all she would have to eat was one pancake, and sometimes she would faint for the want ofnourishement.

Jane was married to George J. Marsh in the Salt Lake endowment House 27 Feb 1854 by Elder Heber C. Kimball.During their first year of marriage her husband built toll bridges inIdaho. They lived among the Indians who were friendly to them because they knew Jane's father who was an interpreter and guide. It was very difficult for Jane when her husband was called to a mission in England. They lived on a farm in Willard, utah and she could barely make ends meet. she and her eight year old daughter knitted socks and sold them to the immigrants. During this time she buried one child. When her husbgand returned she had sufficient provisions on hand to last them the balance of the Winter.

In 1867, Jane gave birth to twin boys. One soon died and it was through the help of the Lord that the other lived. For eighteen long months Jane lay ill in bed. While she was sick she was blessed with the strength to endure. She was shown many wonderful things and had a strong testimony of the Gospel. She gradually regained her strength. Jane, through all of their trails and tribualtions, remained a faithful member of gthe Church. She passed awayu 1 March 1908 in Ogden, Utah at the age of seventy-two.
