    • Mary Ann was baptized a membger of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Oscar Lyons, 1864 in England. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing the songs of Zion. She was also a very religious child and loved to hear the church aurthorties tell about the Church.

The Edmund Ellis gamily started for America in 1867, in a sailing vessel with Captain Thatcher at the head.

After arriving the Pennsylvania they looked up an uncle who had promised her father work. But when he learned they had become members of the Church, he refused to help them.

In the Spring of 1868, with the aid of the Perpetual Emigration fund, they began their trek across the Plains with the Simpson A. Molen Wagon Company.

Mary Ann's mother was not well, leaving the burden of taking care of the children upon Mary Ann's shoulders. The only time she rode in the wagon was when they crossed the rivers. Other than that, she walked the entire distance, arriving in Utah in September 1868.

Her family settle in Weber County at Pleasant View, Utah. She met and married Wilford Elisha Cragun in the Endowment House.

Mary Ann was stricken with cancer after the birth of her twelth child in 1892. She received a special blessing from Wilford Wood at this time, and with the help of Dr. Hohn Riggs in Provo, Utah, the cancer was completely cured.

Her husbanddied when her youngest child was two years old, but she courageously carried on with the help of her older children.

She was one of the early members of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
